Default installing speakers/amps tonight, have a quick question

So I have a 2006 w/Bose. I replaced the headunit only and used the PAC module to run the Bose speakers with it. I am now in the middle of replacing the Bose speakers completely and running all the new speakers with after market amps. My question is about the wiring harness connections to the PAC that send signal to the factory speakers. Since I will be running RCA's from the headunit to amp, do I need to clip the old connections completely? Will the headunit automatically send signal only thru the RCA output since no speakers will be connected line-level to the headunit? I'm just trying to keep this as hassle free and avoid a big mess behind the dash. Thanks guys!

the rca's will work when speakers are connected, the only problem is you might damage the head unit if they aren't covered properly. if one speaker wire makes a connection they could blow out your head unit.

So it would be best to just clip the speaker connections on the headunit's harness and tape them off? Or are you saying leave everything connected as is since they are already secure?

Don't worry about unhooking anything at the head unit. Just make sure that any wires that are unhooked at the speaker end are properly capped off. If it's OEM wiring, and the plugs are intact, you're fine with just unplugging them. Otherwise, tape them up.

I've done this on probably 5 or 6 dozen cars. No issues so far.

Ok yes all factory clips are being left intact in case it needs to go back to stock later on. That's the answer I was hoping for, the less re-wiring I have to do the better. Especially since I'm running new speaker wire to everything as it is . Thanks Scott appreciate the clear answer, I thought I might not have been explaining myself well enough for a second there.
