Question 350z stock Crossovers?

Hi there,

Model: 2005 stock 250z Roadster

Question:

I see that the front speakers have tweeters and a door speaker. Is there a crossover in the system somewhere? How does the headunit separate the frequency for the tweets and speakers?

The component speakers I want to buy come with crossovers. How do you suggest best to install this? Can i install without the supplied crossover? If I need to install where do you suggest the best place to mount the crossover?

Thanks

The stock system does not have a crossover. Its all built into the HU or maybe the amps themselves. As far as mounting you can put the crossovers where ever you want. Just make sure if they have adjustments that you can still access them.

I have my crossovers under each seat in the little pocket made in the floor pan. Perfect size for them. I left enough wire loose on them so I can pull them out and adjust them if needed. Then I ran 2 runs of 14ga speaker wire through the molex plug into each door.

One of these days I'm going to pull the crossovers out and run another wire to where the crossover is, solder the wires together and run active.
