Sacramento Audio Stero Shop
Got my Brick back a couple of days ago with a new kick-butt audio sytem. And no rattles!
If your looking for a new system add Auto/Radio/Stero at 5825 Madison (just off Manzinita behind Col Sanders) to your places to visit. Phone is 916 338 2500. Be sure & ask for Peter.
After visiting several local shops I found A/R/S and Peter. The latter was important because the guy luvs music in additon to being technically competent and honest.
System consists of;
-Eclipse 8443 HU ($420)
-Eclipse 4 channel amp ($380)
-JL 650csi 6 1/2 door speakers ($280)
-JL owo-4 10" woofer ($100).
With a few misc parts & installation & tax the tab was $1650.
From reading threads all over the various Z boards, I know there are several other combinations that will work; this is the combination Peter recommended & I liked the result. The price was in the same range as other shops quoted for a similar quality system.
Hard for me to imagine better sound. I can hear every note of every instrument with perfect clarity.
I had the woofer put in the stock location (behind the driver's seat) because I did not want to lose trunk/hatch space. But I suspect the base would be slightly better in an enclosure in the hatch area. But you can SURE hear the base; there is enough pumping to satisfy the teenie-bopper crowd that wants to blow the windows out! LOL!
I'm sure there are several good audio shops around town but A/R/S is certainly worth including in list of places to consider.

I'll shoot a couple pics & post but not a lot to see. All speakers are in the stock locations. The amp is in the storage compart behind the passenger seat.
Here is a pic of the Eclipse CD 8443 HU:

One note: the HU lighting is blue & does not match the Z's dash lighting.
