Question need help

I have factory navigation and stereo (non Bose). I'd like to replace the factory stereo with an aftermarket setero. But when I lookat Crutchfield's wensite, the installation detail they provided says that I will lose the navigation system if the radio is replaced. Is that true?

No you will not lose factory navigation. But you will lose the voice coming from the factory Nav. A bypass to this is to install a small tweeter either attached to the headunit or behind the Nav Screen or somewhere of your choice to be solely dedicated to just playing the Nav Voice. One thing to remember with the Bose system, if you replace one thing, you most likely have to replace everything cause the Bose is wired in a way that it wont work unless all components are there because they all feed off of each other. Quick fix is to get a headunit and get an amp dedicated to powering the stock speakers if you choose to keep the stock speakers.
