Default Best buy :-(

Well I bought my new radio from best buy, Soney cdx-m8800 an awsome radio, I was gonna fit it myself but as you guys know they do a free fitting service so I thought yeah ok do it,but before they started the work I asked them if they had the fitting kit,the guy came back and said ...oh yeah dude we have the kit in stock so I said ok how long will it take to fit it,he said well dude this will be the first Mazda 350z we have worked on,then the alarm bells started to ring, but I spoke to the guy who was going to fit the radio and he seemed to know what he was talking about so I left it with them.
Two hours later the phone rang.....Erm this is Best buy here we have a slight problem with your radio,I thought to myself oh no what the f$&^k have they screwd up.We dont have the right fitting kit the guy said, anyway to cut along story short I told the guy what an a$$ I thought the salesman was for telling me they had the kits in stock, but yeah dude he said yours is a special kit and its on back order. So now I have a gap around the radio and pocket untill they get the proper kit in which could take weeks.

So guys if you are gonna let best buy mess with your Z make sure they have the RIGHT parts to do the job. Sorry guys I just had to tell somebody.

I'm surprised that you didn't correct the guy for calling your car a Mazda

Well, thats what you get for shopping at Best Buy... I was offered a position to manage their home electronics dept at their SF store and I turned it down; cuz they're Best Buy and ... well ... they suck.

Go to a real car audio shop. It'll cost you a couple more bucks but they'll do the work right and most will warranty the install for as long as you own your car. Plus you're helping out a small business; which is generally a good thing.

perhaps the reason they don't know what kit fits the car because they're using a Mazda3 kit.

Don't know if you care, but if you go to an actual car audio shop and purchase the kit that they need to install your radio, they will credit you the price of the kit you bought and they will install it for you at that time. Had the same problem so thought I'd mention it.
