FYI
After investing a lot of money in a radar detector/laser jammer you can't help but wonder if it was worth the $$
While on lunch break today, I drove past a Douglasville Sherrif who was under an underpass on the side of I20 using his laser gun.
My detector alerted me to "LASER" and evidently was successful in jamming his signal. I could tell by the confused look on his face as he examined the gun and then took a good look at me (smiling). It was a priceless experience.
I was going the posted limit (exactly).

After reading your thread, I did some reading on this unit...it looks pretty good, but it is pricey. Do you mind if I ask how much you paid, and did you get it from a dealer? I see them on ebay for around $700. I have a V1, but I can still get screwed by laser, I'm always looking for better protection

LASER Jammers, on the other hand, only emit light, and so far, that's not a crime (well, as long as it's not blue, green, red on teh front, flashing
etc), and from what I hear, they can work. I'm slightly skeptical, and I doubt their usefulness here in CA, where most tickets are handed out by cops pacing you, and the majority of the rest from radar.

I paid $680 on ebay. The laser jammer is legal in Georgia.
Reviews peg it at 94% effective.
I ordered a Valentine 1 only to cancel my order once I considered that ATTEMPTING to jam laser would provide me better odds than not.....and that the Escort SRX had the jammer or "shifting" feature.
If you own this car, you better have protection.

did you do the installation yourself, or did you get it professionally done, and if you did, how much extra was that? I never saw it called a jammer, is the jamming feature the same as what they call shifter? Thanks for the info!

Installed it myself.
It wasn't difficult, just time consuming.
https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....threadid=72400
Shifters left and right (and rear license plate)......radar sensor in the middle (had to make a bracket for the radar sensor - bent aluminum flat stock).
The display is tiny. I stuck it with double sided tape above the rear view mirror.

Looks good...gonna do some more research, if it looks good, gonna start saving up for it. Is it pretty easily removable (so that I can transfer it to another car in the future?)

Actually, if u have V1 already,.U could just get Escort ZR3. I have V1 , but still got ticket by laser, so I add a ZR3 in my car. It make a perfect protection from cops....
ZR3 is just laser jammer, SRX is jammer + radar detector. I got my brand new ZR3 on ebay for just $340. If u've got V1, don't weast money on SRX.!

In installing the rear diffuser, I noticed that he took out one of the rear brake lights to access the grommet that goes to the outside.. On my car there is also a grommet almost directly behind the license plate so there is no need to do that (his too?).. I ran my wire down the right rear of the car and into the "glove box"..
Then, I ran it down the center console.. I felt this was the easiest route from the rear with minimal panel pulling.. I can post some pics if anyone wants to see them..
The fronts were very straight forward to do..The only tricky part is to loosen/move out of the way the wiper fluid reservior so you won't be swearing so much

I started doing it but it got REALLY long and complicated..
I may finish it though..just may take a while because it was very labor intensive to wire the car.. just so you know, removing the nose and about half the interior panels was necessary. not an install for the faint of heart.
