Question Selecting Fuses

Trying to select the correct fuses for my install.

I have a Basslink (200 watts RMS) and a Clarion APA450 (200 watts RMS also).

Doing the math my total Amp Draw will be 60 amps.

I am running a 4ga power wire from the battery to a digital fused distribution block and then (2) 8ga lines out of the block one to each amp.

I think the correct setup is to use (2) 30amp fuses in the distribution block, but the block is for ANL fuses and the smallest I can find is 35amp. I am trying to stay away from AGU fuses due to their poor performance.

Three questions:

Am I risking damaging my amps if I use 35 amp fuses?

If I upgrade to 35 amp fuses do I need to upgrade my in-line fuse on the 4ga wire to 70amps?

Do I need to factor in the draw of the digital block when figuring total power consumption or is the draw negligible?

Thanks,
JBWII

The difference between a 30 amp fuse and a 35 amp fuse is so small that I wouldn't worry much about it.

However, I would keep the 60 amp fuse up front. the 35 amp fuses are only there to protect the 8ga wire running from the block to its load. These fuses aren't really needed at all, assuming you have a fuse at the battery like you said you did.

Don't worry about the power draw of the block, I would guess it would draw less then .010mA - just enough to power a A/D converter and the display!
