Default Display Help with CDA-9835

Hey guys, well I am trying to take some damn pictures of my system install and was tinkering with the display settings. My question is there are two modes in the "Dimmer" menu. Automatic and manual. Well honestly I can't really see the faceplate too well when the dimmer turns on when I switch on my headlights. So I switched it to manual, but now I can't find out how to manually set the display to the bright setting. It is exceedingly frustrating for what is otherwise an awesome and intuitive head unit. Any one have advice? I checked the manual and it only explains how to switch between auto and manual, not how to alter the manual brightness setting. Grhhhh!

I don't know, but I just ordered that head unit, how do you like it? What else did you get? I went with boston acoustics in the front and coaxials in the rear, alpine head unit n amps, and the jl stealth box..its a hard dec. to make and im already having some regrets

Hey Kamikaz,

Well my setup is a Alpine CDA 9835 with JL amps, Focal components and Coaxials and JL stealth box. Honestly I really love it. The head unit is pretty easy to use and intuitive other than my dimmer problem (GRHHHH STILL!!!!!). The subs fire hard enough for my tastes and I haven't even really pumped them up yet. Over all I think it is a pretty badass setup

Cool thanks a lot. i was starting to have doubts but I am pretty sure even if there were better options this will blow me away b/c I am not much of an audio head and I am used to stock which is damn weak. Should I ran mono or 2 channel amp to that JL box?

I have a JL 500/1 powering my subs and a JL 300/4 powering the components. I'm still taking it easy on the subs but I can tell ya that if you aren't looking for a ton of "Bump" and want good clear solid clean sound the setup is pretty awesome.
