Default someone help troubleshoot my problem?

Ok so i started having this weird problem on friday. I play my music pretty loud bu friday nite i played it louder than usual. On the drive home though i noticed that when playing a nas song the volume seemed to go up by itself and the highs seem even higher like almost making my ears hurt they were so high. I dont know if i screwed up the jl 300.2 amp or the head unit (alpine 9835) has issues but it is acting funny. Another thing it has done the last 2 days is, when i get in the car in the morning and start up my system the subwoofer doesnt start up right away. Its like i have to turn up the volume to a loud level for the bass to start hitting then from that point it doesnt ever short again. The subwoofer amp light is on the whole time though so it seems as if the subwoofer amp is fine. I hope the problem is just that the head unit is messed up because i have the 3 yr hifi buys warranty and could just switch it out, but i have no clue. Like i said it seems like now i cant turn the volume up as loud without the component speakers sounding SUPER BRIGHT (i have inf perfects which are bright but since friday nite they have been painstakingly higher pitched), or the volume in the middle of songs seems to get louder randomly, and the 3rd issue is the subwoofer seeming to be intermittent. Any clues?

it sounds like the HU. haven't seen the alpine HU. does it have a flip down face? you change cds a lot? it could be the ribbon that went bad. should have it checked out.
