Guys,

I am trying to build a box that can house a jl 10w6v2 and placed it in the stock location firing forward.

I will use fiberglass to get around the shape. But can i use metal as baffle? My brother is a machinist. He can cut a custom baffle.

Would this be a problem. But i still don't know how to get the shape of the box to get through the tight location. I don't know what other way. I see people mount their sub on the factory metal bracket.

Metal is a very poor choice for a baffle, since a large part of what a speaker box does is damp resonances. Metal would resonate like hell. You could, however, make a plain MDF or fiberglass box and then have some metal trim put on the outside.

Remember:
Box leaks = loss in output
Box resonances/panel flexing = loss in output
