Default New experimental Powder coated Strut tower enclosure

Here is the newest experiment we are working on, We have a local Powder coating facility, They have done pretty well for us . I just wanted to get everones opinion. The same finish can be applied for the flat enclosures for that custom look. The cost of this is a lot less then getting it painted. Yes the Paint will have more of a gloss and shine However you can put a coat of clear if wanted or desired on top of the Powder Coat.

The picture is fresh out of the shop the box was still warm when we took the pictures.

There was no body work done on this enclosure, came from the fiberglass shop and straight to PC shop. With some more attention to this enclosure it will be to our satisfaction. So the picture is Not the final product, although it looks real good. For better pictures go to http://www.wickedcas.com/index.php?o...llery&catid=27

Yeah...I work for a company that powder coats metal. We put the pieces through a zillion degree oven during the process.

The setup looks real nice but are you running all 3 of them in one great big enclosure instead of giving them all their own seperate enclosures? Won't that do quite a hit on sound quality?

Even though I know you mainly do under strut enclosers there is nothing ive ever seen that comes close to that setup.
Since i dont use the trunk id like to have something like that

Well, If you look at JLs own 3x10 enclosures, Wedge boxes, You will see they are not seperated either. Yes you are giving up some sound quality, However you are gaining a lot of space in the enclosure volume by combining space. Since there is realy no way to seperate the chambers under the strut tower bar, we went with the combined space. As long as you are running one amplifier for all subs you realy have no issues. It is only if you are running seperate amp for each sub you will have a problem with combined chamber. If you are after sound Quality you may want to go with 8W7. I love that sub, I have to say it is propably one of the best SQ sub I have ever heard.

We can create or recreate just about anything. All depends on how determined the person getting it is.

Here is a Supra trunk from our website to give you an idea of our shop.

More pics are at www.wickedcas.com under picture gallery.

Nazar,
To recreate that encloser to fit 2 jl subs and amps how much money are you talking?
I mean im not going to break the bank for an encloser but if its within reason then i might consider.
Also, Im sure you would know this better than me but would i have to yank all the factory stuff to get a setup like that to work?
Id like to just redo my factory subs and such with Jl audio but have no idea if they will fit in the factory locations.
Im noob

there is new powdercoating technology that can be used on wood, mdf and plastic. 400degrees is the standard powdercoat temp, but these new ones work at lower temps, like 250.

Just to be clear, You guys are talking about the subs n the spare tire well, Right?

The problem with that is it is allready done, I don't want to feel like I am stealing someone elses idea. Maybe something similar, But we will not do the same exact install. That is just not right for the person who came up with it first. We can create something similar But not the same.
Anyone local wants to volunteer their car for this? There is great benefits on labor cost for the first one.

Nazar,

Twice I have submitted sincere requests for specific product
information on your web site. One recently.

I know I should probably telephone you, right?

Why do you offer this option (email inquiry) on your web site?

Nazar,
We are talking about spare tire install.
The fact that it has been done once isnt in question.
However, The fact that the people that done it the first time wont do it again means we have to have someone to make it.
I dont care if its exact but for me to buy it then it would have to be darn close.
I think people would buy this encloser. Since i have never used a spare tire in my life I cant see the need of having it there.
Id rather have some subs and amps
Anyways, If you come up with something close then let me know.

Sorry about that, I check my e-mail regularly. There may be a glitch on the system. Are you emailing Nazar@wickedcas.com ?

Update, Problem Solved, e-mail designation was wrong. I will get them from now on. Thanx for pointing it out.

We just haven't come up with a reasonable way of doing it without having it be weird looking.
