Default Roadster upgrade questions

I just ordered an 05 Roadster Enthusiest, now I wanted to install a new stereo system but i do not want to go to crazy, I decided that I want the Kenwood 7015, now my question to you all is how are the factory speakers.....will they sound fine with this headunit? or the next road I can go is installing a complete Alpine system but I am not sure how hard it is to install a 10 behind the drivers seat? does anyone have any ideas... I am not looking for a stereo to blast me out of the car but something that sounds good and somewhat easy to install

thanks

My installation ability is limited to writting a check to someone who knows what they are doing, so no comment on degree of difficulty. But, I had a 10" woofer installed behind the seat as part of my upgrade without an issue.

The stock speakers, for lack of a better term, suck. A lot. If you are going to spend the cash on a nice headunit, then you should look into getting speakers and an amp as well. Installing a sub behind the drivers seat is best done with a custom enclosure. The space is also very limited because of the angle the sub sits at. This means that you can't fit any really deep-mounting 10" subs there.

With a roadster, I'd get some decent 10" sub that'll fit there (I have no idea what will, I have a coupe with the sub under the strut tower bar) and mount the amps in the trunk vertically. Get some good $300ish components for the front and, if you like having rear speakers, get some decent $100-150ish coaxials for the back. I'd recommend looking into a 5 channel amp to save space; a good one will power your entire system quite well.

Feel free to PM me if you need any other info.

well..i can tell you what it is since i went through that route a month ago.

I have that Kenwood install and the sound is BAD. I end up throwing out all the bose (still in my garage now. ) and install JL Audio amp with JL Audio speaker and new 10" Sub with another amp install behind the drive seat. It will cost you money for this but it will worth every cents.

yes. it is for my DB 05 Roaster.

If you buy JL online and pay for installation only then you are saving about 50% of the cost. I was paying nearly 2K for my JL system. (pay at retail price. )

I was going to go with an all alpine system but the sub is what i am worried about spenging an arm and a leg for a custom box, is the space behind the seat the same as a hatchback and does anyone now the dimensions? I would try to build it myself but I do not know the similarities between the roadster and the hatchback

Thanks
