Some companies make shift lights that just plug into the cig lighter..lol. Others that may not be getting noise may just have a better inverter. MY suggestion is to run a new power wire from the fuse box and ground it off the chassis with the shortest wire possible.

With my inverter, I have a cig adapter, and an adapter that can hook onto the battery. No matter which one I use, I still get video and audio interference.

might also want to upgrade your factory ground at the battery. I got the grounding kit and added an extra chassie ground because I am working on a big system and want a good ground

My power convertor was causing alot of noise. I went through three different units until I found the Monter performance car 150watt convertor. http://www.monstercable.com/caraudio2/PerfCar.asp
I bought mine at Best Buy.
