I got my unit imported from www.pricejapan.com. It was about $650.00 shipped, but that did not include the needed FM modulator. They were very easy to work with, and I had no problems with my purchase. There is a gentleman on this site that can get deals on JL Audio stuff. His name is Nazar, and he is also making sub enclosures.

I already explained the ways you can get this unit in previous thread. I guess you missed it.
Since this unit is only available in Japan, You got to 'order' it from Japan. Only those 2 websites are exporting this unit to the North America.
1. www.pricejapan.com
approx. US$600~$620 including shipping.
2. www.melting-pot.com
approx. US$699 + $50 shipping = US$750
No.2 is way more expensive but you get the FM range convertor.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Japanese FM operates from 76MHz to 90MHz. Since the rest of the world operates on 88MHz to 108MHz, a converter is necessary to tune into FM outside of Japan.
We have developed such a converter! Our 18MHz converter allows you to tune into FM stations from 94MHz to 108MHz. We includes this converter FREE with every radio purchase. We also have a 16MHz converter for customers who wish to listen to stations from 92MHz to 106MHz, available upon request - please write this in the Special Notes section when you order.
How does it work? For example, if you want to listen to 102.7 FM, you would tell your radio to tune into 102.7 - 18 = 84.7 FM. The radio will display 84.7MHz on the LCD display, but you will actually receive 102.7MHz. No internal modifications on the radio are necessary! Everything is done externally!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So... basically you are paying US$150 for Fm range convertor + English friendly website.
So.. it's up to you.

GReat install. But, correction: Not all the Sony's require the RF adaptor. Mine gets the full spectrum (it has a selector switch). I am not sure what country it is from, but i bought it on ebay. And yes, all is in engrish.
Does this Sony unit play MP3's? Also, is it capable of adding a DVD changer?
I am looking for a cool 2 din HU for my Z that will play CD'S, MP3's and hopefully DVD. If it doesn't play DVD's that is fine but I would want the unit to be able to have a DVD changer added to it. I plan on putting in a Farhenheit screen in the navigation window. Will anything be displayed on the screen from the above Sony HU?
