Default Custom molded kick panels finished, a few pics :) ooo suede is so soft...

just finished trimming and installing GQ350's kick panels. I molded them out of the stock kicks, and they really take up almost no space at all. on the driver side, it sticks out, INCLUDING the depths of the speaker, about 1.75 inches, ont he passenger side, about 1.5"...tahts it

imaging is dead on and the staging is nice and high at windshield/dash level, DLS works awesome in off axis kicks, if you think its BS, feel free to contact Rav for a listen

i was going to vinyl it and then decided to do suede, a little tougher to wrap it with suede since its not as stretchable and you cant heat it, but hte result is a more durable and classy look, since he may soon upgrade the seats to something suede...

my camera kidna sux and it was dark out, sorry for hte dark pics, maybe ravi will get better pics later ...

not for this one

nah, acutally, the ideal way i think to do a system in the Z, would bea iridium (or other high quality) e way system, build a fiberglass enclsoure to sit in the door and full seal and dampening the door and throw the midbass in there, and then mold a kick for the midrange and tweet.

THAT would sound so badass, but youa re talking about another 500-700 bucks ontop of osmething like this for the speaker cost and extra work on the door...

I got a chance to check out this setup and gotten a chance to listen to it as well. First of all, the install was top notch! Looks very professional given the fact that he did all this cutom work in his garage! Very nice indeed.

Now for the sound... it was amazing! At first when he turned the system on, I thought the setup was a surround sound setup cuz you can hear music from all angles but then I came to realize that there are only 2 front speakers and tweets, no rear speakers at all. Although the tweets were mounted on the kick panel, the sound seemed like it came from the middle of the dash. You can pratically hear every instrument notes from a song, and this is coming from only having 2 front speakers installed. I was very surprised! Overall, very good job indeed!

P.S. CLEAN YOUR GARAGE DUDE BEFORE I TRIP OVER ALL YOUR CABLES!

Guys, the sound is just INCREDIBLE.

From an audio fidelity standpoint I am just BLOWN away--sound is like someone put speakers on my dash and are playing just for me and my passenger.

It's a very intimate feeling ahah..

I was driving home in the rain last night with my stereo up...and man it just makes the car feel so much more expensive--it's amazing. Simply amazing sound. My buddies at work heard it and all I got was "damnnnn!!!" and "holy sh*t!!" ahahah so yeah, I'm happy.

Most importantly, the sound is incredibly smooth and warm. The transition from highs/mids/SUPER LOWS LOL is also amazing. THe overall "meshing" of the stereo is among the best I've heard.

As far as the 13.5W7 goes.. one word:

DEVISTATING!

That thing is a beast. Currently have gains 1/4 up, with -7 on the headunit (yes, minus 7) and my rearview wont stay in place. As an experiment I had windows down and was playing a hip hop track with a good bass line. I put the windows up and kept the volume the same and it was as if someone SUCKED all the air from the cabin. It's the same feeling you get when you drive through the mountains and the air pressure levels change.

Something you have to experience to understand. If anyone doesn't believe me, please PM me and we'll meet up. One word of caution--you WILL feel your wallet get lighter if you hear my setup because I assure you you will want something done by bing too LOL!
