With your amp in the falsy of the glove compartment, can you put the board over it? Or will it get too warm? I'm getting my amp cut out and fit into that location as well, and I'm wondering if I'll be able to put the board over it, and put stuff in the box. Thanks

Ditto here. Only problem is I've never done a complete install w/ amps and sub. Done HU and replaced speakers but that's about it. Any advice, books, links, etc. for someone doing something like this for the first time. I like this setup and would look to replicate it, or come close.

Wow, we have almost the same stereo setup. I have a JL10W3 mounted in a simliar box, same HU, front and rear speakers. The only difference is that I have an MTX amp for the sub and another that powers the fronts and rears. I've really been thinking of adding a third amp just for the sub so I can utilize the HU better for tuning. How do you like your JL amp? I've also considered adding a second sub for some more kick.

Hi DBTRACK,

Sorry a little late to this thread but I'm doing research on a similar setup. I actually just got the same alpine HU and am planning on getting someone install a box or other enclosure in the stock location for either a JL w3 or w6 10". I was also considering the amp you got, JL 500/5. How do you like it? Is the 25W for the rears enough? I plan on pushing 4 kenwood excelon 6.5" components (I guess no tweets in back).

Also did you have to do anything special to install the amp under the glove? I REALLY like that spot as it is still accessible and totally stealth. Did you have to cut out the plastic bottom? How was it mounted? I heard right benneath there is the gas tank so I would be a little hesitant to let someone drill into it Thanks for any words of advice.

Zster,

Are you there man? I pm you (mistakenly), thought you were another person.

Anyways, are you going to find a way to fit a 10w6v2 in there? Let me know. I want to do that too. I am locally to u.

I just got my 350 a week ago. Now I'm ready for some sound. Have you encountered any problems with heat build up and your amp where it is? If so, what options are there to correct it?

If you mean divided in the middle? No the Magic Boxes are built to utilize maximum room under the strut tower bar. By having two subd share the same space you can get a little more out of the enclosure.

Those boxes are just so clean, seperates from the back of the car a bit too. Curious anyone notice a reduction in rear wheel well road noise?

Anything can be done, However I don't think it would be cost effective.
