Default An East Coast Stealth Install into the Z!

After literally years of getting stuff for the system, I finally had some downtime with the car where I could have everything installed. My requirements were really simple - it had to all be stuff that's off the beaten path (not the typical "me too" system with JL subs and such), and it had to be stealth. I am not a flashy person by nature, and have no desire for tinted windows. I ended up with some pretty rare equipment, except for the headunit, and it all flows together very well. Also, everything had to be invisible when the car is shown unless I decide to show it to someone.

Equipment used was pretty basic - Denwood DDX7015 (in the car for 2.5 years previously), McIntosh MC431 amp, Focul Utopia 6.5's up front (left my rear speakers stock and only am using them when I have a DVD on for fill), and a SEAS Lotus 10 inch sub. I also used Tsunami wires (4 gauge and RCA's, and a Tsunami 5 farad cap, as well as dual circuit breakers, and Dynamat Extreme throughout. The sub box is all MDF (no glass), and is ported.

All the work was done by Soundtrax here in Centereach, NY, and I could not be happier with the sound and the workmanship. They got me in with a last minute appointment, and even though the headunit had to go out for repair (my Sirius was only working out of the left side of the car for some reason), it was completed and returned to me in a very timely manner, with regular updates (without me having to call them, which is a welcome change from previous systems I've had done in my cars). I supplied all the equipment except for the cap and the wiring. The kickpanels I had done a while ago (got the speakers like 2 years ago!), and the amp I got over a year ago but just never got around to installing any of it till now

Onto the pics!

I don't have pics of the "guts", as I'm waiting for them to be emailed to me, but you'll get a good feel for the setup here.

Enjoy, and let me know what you think!

i can prolly visualize whats beneath it

the box upfront, and then some kind of support platform for ht eam oto sit on at the right height, and then supports to hold up the floor...

I have not gotten the pics from the installer (been so busty ehre I forgot to ask him for them !) Also, thing is, unless you use the same sub, it won't really matter. This sub is super super efficient...the box is tiny.

Wanted to reference your amp rack and sub box in designing my own system. I'm designing my floor with one single 12", one amp, and two crossovers. If possible, any pics or advice will be great. Again, great install!

Ahah, I know that car! That was a while ago... I actually work at SoundTrax, and I remember that job well. I just joined up here at My350Z.com, and also just picked up my Z. Searching SoundTrax, I found this, and I was quick to say 'go figure'. If anyone's interested in getting a similar job like this, feel free to stop down. I'd be more than happy to accommodate fellow Z drivers.
