If you don't need it, I'll be glad to take that off your hands

Sweet!
And it's not any o'l beater amp either. That's like finding over 200 bucks in your jeans before laundry.

All I found when I removed that panel was a BLOSE sub and amp

What a pleasant surprise for the guy who found a 500/1 back there. I did mine today, thanks to the OP for the instructions. Also I had a tiny *** wrench, it's like they had a gorilla torquing the bolts on. Just bought this car too; no free amp for me. The side panel was a ***** to remove but you just have to yank hard on it.

Anyone know why they included this bracket on base 350z's that were destined to never get the Bose Subs?

They couldn't program the delete off the assembly line?
Seems like a waste of metal unless it provides some sort of chassis rigidity.

Probably would of been a hassle for them to delete off some and add on some. Sounds easier to just include in it all.

Now that you mention it, it could have been there for rigidity. It's a pretty stiff piece of metal held on by 14 bolts torqued on by gorillas. Oh well, I'm sure the difference isn't that big without it.

Really right?

I mean it's a serious piece of metal with some heavy duty screws.

Unless the Bose sub had a secret low resistance switch that allows it to blow 1200 watts, i don't see why they made it so heavy and included it in all trims.

well rember that the factory has to waranty everything for "x" amount of time so it might have been something to do with that as well

ZOMBIE! While I'm here -> I removed this while removing my seatbelts and decided against putting it back simply because I was lazy...never thought of using it for my helmet o.O

Thank you for this

Even with the bracket removed my 10 inch sub box won't fit so now I'm modifying it to do so

This is fortunately going to prevent me from putting my aftermarket sub into the stock bracket and suffering from less punch!

Modified my box and it fit in well. Here comes the Boom!

So do you still prefer a box in the space over the sub in the cutout? Any issues with this since you did it?

Another thanks to the OP for a great "how-to" thread.

It was still a major PIA though!

14 freakin' bolts. Geez.
