Tyre feathering/wheel alignment problems
So I've seen all the posts in USA regarding tyre feathering and the
complaints then about the "grinding" noise which then comes from
the front tyres.
I hoped that the Aus cars might be free of this problem, but at about 6000k it started and now at about 10000k its unbearable -
especially 40k and under and even more so when under brakes.
So at the 10000k service I brought the matter to the attention of
Maitland Nissan and they did a wheel alignment. Of course, no fix.
The USA TDS suggests dismounting tyres and swapping left to
right. They didn't do this.
Kloster Nissan today completed the service and kindly had it out
with Nissan. No satisfaction - "it's an alignment problem".
A call to Nissan PR confirmed the attitude - go away, it's not our problem.
So now for the remainder of the life of the tyres I will have to put
up with this grind - but I ain't finished yet!
Who knows what about the situation here in Aus? Surely I'm not the first to experience this here?
And who else has taken the trouble to complain to bose (lowercase intentional) about their abysmal sounding creation?
More on that if there's interest.
