Default Fire extinguisher fitted?

Has anyone fitted a fire extinguisher to their car? CAMS require an extinguisher be fitted in the cabin so I'm wondering what you guys have done about this. How/where do you fit/mount the extinguisher?

NO!

I won't race my new car... I've considered buying an old WRX for CAMS racing but I'm not sure i have the time, nor the skill . lol!

For the street car no limit days you only need a helmet.

Ask Nathan as he races his 350z, but then again he has gutted the thing so there is plenty of room... could even fit a bar fridge in there.

hehe, in that case don;t do it or you'll get hooked :-)

I normally go with car clubs (ie. WRX club, Handa club, BMW club etc). They are affiliated with CAMS (ie. for insurance purposess) and CAMS requires a fire extinguisher 'within reach' in the car. In the S2000 I had it right in front of the passanger seat and the Honda club sold the braket (for $20) that holds it there. Anything like that for the 350Z?

Behind the passenger seat could work or on the passenger floor.

There isn't any real issue putting one in, just looks fuggly.

Fitted the extinguisher to the front of the rear strut brace behind the passenger. Put some sheet metal in behind the plastic to give extra strength. made up a leather wrap around ( black ) that holds on with velcro to make it less obvious.

If you really need it you car reach it from the drivers seat ( but its a bit of a stretch )

That is a good idea. Seems like a very good place for it. Just need a bracket/braces that will hold it there firmly and without any rattles.
