Default Nearly got busted for racing.....and Hi Tech is better.

There are not many Zeds in Perth. So when I pull up at the lights next to another Zed it is a bit of an event. His is Sunset mine is Blue. the usual happens - nice car mate and vice versa. Course mine has HiTech so we decide to see if the performance is improved.

The lights change - I leave rubber as he does and I definitly get a the drop by about a car length and a half to 80 or 90 k's. I tap off as it is in a busy area (still safe tho - no houses with kids). We both bask in the compliments and my radar goes off - 5 cars back there is a cop looking at us!!!

We both drop right down to the limit and peel off in different directions and the cop left us alone - lucky!!!

The Hitech definitly gave me much more acceleration - I was at least 1.5 car lengths in front and I started badly behind him - so it could have been 2.5 lengths at least.

That is a GOOOOOD news to hear man!!! as not many people have this kind of chance to test the car... that will most likely to make our car go under 6 seconds if Motor magazine gets one with the exhaust mod to test out!!! thanks for sharing!

cheers,

richie

Yes he started really well and I was at least a car length behind (slow I know but I didn't really know if he would race and I didn't want to look a pratt). I stormed past from there and just blew him away. So if you don't have a HiTech or equivalent ya gotta get with it or you will get left behind. Oh and watch for those blue and reds. (Always a wise move to check if a cop car is behind if you want a street race.)

That pretty much agrees with my findings. I found out that I'm about 2 car-lengths 'quicker' than stock Zed from 30 - 100kph, and then another 2 car-lengths before 150kph. I'm guessing around 0.4sec improvement over 400m.

that will most likely to make our car go under 6 seconds

I'd hope so. The HSV R8 (auto) I raced is a 'flat' 6 sec car. The S2000 could get bellow 6secs so I don't see any reason why the Zed would not.

btw, in a German magazine 'Sports Auto' they have already clocked a stock 350Z at 5.8secs to 100kph ... though, that is with one person aboard and it is the 'best' run. Here they run with 2 people and in both directions and then average the times.
