Default Interesting Stats

Heres something for stats people like David M

Killowats produced at max Torque

Porsche 996 3.6ltr 167kw @ 4250rpm
Nissan 350Z 3.5ltr 182kw @ 4800rpm
Ferrari 360 3.6ltr 185kw @ 4750rpm
BMW M3 3.2ltr 192kw @ 5000rpm
Porsche GT3 3.6ltr 201kw @ 5000rpm

From this you can see how revs are an important part of max Kw

The Ferrari & Z produce aprox the same power at the same revs but the Z's power is all over at 6200rpm & the Ferrari goes on to make 294kw @ 8500rpm

Thanks Peter, I always find stuff like this interesting. I'm surprised you left the S2000 from the list .... that'll be around 165kW at max-torque.

And I'm full advocator of 'more revs' ... afterall, I come from an S2000 and consider F360, GT3 and M3 among my fevourite cars ;-)

I would love the 350Z with the revs raisied to 7,500rpm while keeping the torque relatively flat (ie. not dropping) the way to redline. Like you said elsewhere, we'd have 250kW Zed with and with improved gearing (ie. each ear would take us around 13% higher. It'd be literally a 911 and M3 killer.

Though, it'll only happen (for me) if Nissan makes a car like that.
