Default 2003, 2004 or 2005?

How do you tell if your model is one of the above?

sofar from what i read in US forum is that anything made after june 2003 is the 2004 model. Is this correct?
Mine coming is made december 2003 so am I to assume that is 2004 model with bit of updated interior and stuff.

does anyone have a link to a webpage that has a screen shot of the difference between the 2003 and 2004?

thanks

I dont have a link, but, the "upgrades" are very minor and AFAIK only cosmetic.

Things like a different nav door, drivers knee pad, seat belt extender and so on.

You're correct, you will have a '04 model.

As always

H

PS if you do a search in the main forum you will find all the info you need on the model "upgrades".

FWIW if you look at the compliance plate you'll see the manufacture month and year. Mine's 04/03 for example which means it was made the month before I took delivery.

Mine coming is made december 2003

That means that it is a 2003 model. Here in OZ the 'build date' is what defines what 'year model' it is. In the US they are funny with their 'model designation'. They seem to be one year ahead with models as to when they buy them. ie. they can buy a car in 2004 that is designated as the '2005' model. It's really just marketing talk.

Most of the world, incuding here, goes by build date. When you go to sell they'll deduce the value of your car by the your build plate. If it sais 2003, then it is a 2003 model.

Not necessarily. My last car had a build date of 11/93 yet was classed as a MY94 including by the RTA. The Clubman model and 1.8 engine were only available from 94 but I guess they started production early.

I'm glad that Nissan have not added any more power to the 04 models - I'd feel inadequate otherwise.
Can live with the current Nav door and lack of knee pads and the thump of the seatbelt clip against the plastic door trim.

hmm i have a VIN number does that help to identify what model mine is? I would call nissan but they are dumbasses! I hate the god damn nissan hotline they are full of crap!

They have absolute no idea. I asked them is there any BLUE 350z in BRISBANE and they said NO. NONE and even treated me like a baby cause I said are you sure like 10 times!

The next day I called again and different guy pretty much said the same thing they can't find anything!

That same afternoon my dealer gave me a vin number and I called nissan hotline to verify and then they said there is a 350z in brisbane infact theres 2!

I dont know what kind of idiot they are hiring but surely they can answer a simple question correctly!
