Default Went to NRAM...

I went to NRMA to put the Koni shocks on the policy, and there where no problems there since they don't alter ride hight.

I asked them about adding sports exhaust and I got the go ahead, it includes headers, cats and cat back. The only requirment is it has to meet the RTA regulations.

Now the bad part, I've asked them about adding swaybars and the answer was that they might insure them or not. I'll have to get back to them specifing exactly what i want and then they will let me know if I can have them or not. Did any one install sways and got them approved by NRMA? Their decision will depends on how much it alters the handling characteristics of the car. DAMN!

I forgot to ask them how wide I can go with wheels. I know that few of the other guys got 8.5" before as the response, but it never hurts to ask.

I wouldn't expect any insurance co to reject you due to aftermarket shocks. You should be able to replace a worn part with an equivalent and not necessaraly OEM item, irrespective if it is cheaper or more expensive that the original. But it is always good to tell them what has been changes from original so that there are no nasty surprises whenever the time come to make a claim.
When my shocks need replacing, i'll get Koni's also. Probably won't cost a hell of a lot more than an overpriced Nissan OEM shock anyway.

Yeap, that was an easy one, he told me that he didn't know why I've bothered. Now I've to reconsider my plans for 350evo sways. Any one insured with NRMA who has aftermarket sways installed?

How whould they know how it effects the handling? Are they going to test it before and after?

That's what I was thinking. Now that I think about it, they might ask me the specs and stuff and if it changes anything. So my answear will be that they complement the Konis and they don't change the handling in any significent way. Oh and I also add that I need it on my car since they are RED.

why do you need to tell them about the sway bar?
if you really worry about it, just powercoat them black and Im sure no one can tell its aftermarket
