I think this is what makes the stock and HT ones look so good.

And are they the same size as the OEM or are the tips smaller.
Yes the tips do have an angle very similar to the factory tips and the outside diameter of the tips is 3.5".

This seems to be the best compromise for the tip size in order to achieve adequate tip to body clearance.

Cool, Do you know how large the stock ones are?

I might measure it tonight when I get home.

Outside diameter of OEM tips is 10cm (nearly 4")

My apologies to all, I just checked the measurements on both the stock Nissan exhaust and the APS cat back exhaust system and the tip size is indeed 4" on both systems. It would be difficult to install larger than 4'' tips on the 350Z cat back system (not impossible) as the space between the tips and Nisan body work is tight, if you don't allow sufficient air gap between the exhaust system and the body work the paint work can be tarnished, APS would not take the risk to go to larger tips for this reason.

Geez, they'd get a real freight on the next start up, fur would be flying for sure.

Peter, thanks for that, it looks good and it seem it would be very easy to install as well.

I've noticed that it doesn't have an H pipe, kind of similar to Injen, any specific reason behind it? Any idea how much it weights?

I see you've made the exhaust an optional extra for the twin turbo system. I dont believe this was the case originally. Some feedback from this site impacted that decision no doubt?

Oh yeah, where were you?

I sure do, shocking isnt it, remember my insurance problem? Still not sorted and I was sick of driving a Civic. Im not sure how long these tyres will last though, my driving style is somewhat different with these wheels on.

I saw a black Mini Cooper S a few months ago in chatswood, that was my first real look at one.

Thanks for those kind words, APS has put a huge effort into the APS cat back system for the Z car and we are very pleased with the results this far, I believe the system could be installed by the average owner in approx 1 hour with basic hand tools, jack and car stands.

Yeah your correct in saying that, we tried a number of different exhaust designs and the balance tube/pipe achieved zero in terms of power or response, we believe that most of the power is in the Muffler design and we spent many days on that component development alone. Will post the weight of the cat back system on the APS web site within the next week or so.

That is true, we were going to package the exhaust system as part of the TT system for the US Market, though due to the high freight expense we have now deleted the APS cat back exhaust from the TT system. No doubt the feedback from the forum also had some impact on this decision, though ultimately the cost of the freight to the US was also a significant reason.

This unfortunatly will not apply in Australia as our noise and engine emission laws (EPA) are much stricter than in the US market, and we intend to ensure that each APS TT system in Australia can be legally registered, this requires an engineers report for every individual car.

For this reason the APS cat back exhaust system will be a mandatory part of the TT system in Australia.

I remember looking at the S emblem on your car thinking so that is what otto had as his avatar.

What does your shop sell? (You dont have to say which shop exactly.)
