Mobile Phone
Any advise on fitting a mobile phone.
FTG Nissan say there is no wiring provision at all in the car for power, stereo mute or using the sterio speakers. Hard to believe when such thing have been around on holdens & falcons for years. Still if they are wrong any directions on where to look would help.

No, it seems for once they are correct! As far as I know anyway.
I just spliced mine into the "power source" wiring and ran the wires under the centre console to the foot well.
As always

I have a Sony Bluetooth kit for my car. Leave Bluetooth enabled on the phone, and just leave it in my pocket as I get in and out of the car.
I love it, although Bluetooth really sucks the juice out of the phone battery.
The installer said they could jury rig a power cutout to the stereo for when calls come in, but I suppose that'd reset the clock too. It'd also void the warranty on the stereo.

I've had my phone wired into the car so that it works as follows:-
- Any incoming calls or if I touch the phone to dial out then the stereo switches itself off. Clock is not affected.
- I do not run the phone through the stereo speakers. It has its own speaker.
"Switch off" function cost me just $40 and is, I believe, just a relay. I can track down details if anyone is interested.
