Midiv Divisional #4
So this weekend was the 4th of 5 Divisional events here in the Midwestern Division. The event was held in Kansas City, MO on Saturday and Sunday. I got the new wheels from Andrew (Del105) and mounted them up Thursday night, loaded up the trailer with the 710s and the Hoosier wets. I headed out of town Friday afternoon, ended up getting stuck at work till 3:30, and then stuck in traffic for an hour trying to get from i-270 up to i-70, via 40/64.
I got in to KC around 8pm on Friday evening, unhooked the trailer, got the car quickly teched and went over to the hotel to checkin with event registration. Remind you, it was over 100 all weekend, so the hotel was having some issues to say the least. We (split the room with my codriveR) were up on the 5th floor, luckily we had a room with AC that worked, at least it worked a little bit.
Saturday we got up early, I headed to the car wash to clean it off (I love how easy it is to clean a freshly waxed car). We then mounted the tires up and took a course walk. The only course walk I took for Saturday's course.
We ran third heat, HEAT being the key word, it was over 100 pretty much all day, reportedly someone pyrometered the asphault and it read 150 degrees.
We took the sprayer with us, and my cooler full of gatorade and ice/ice water, to refill ourselves and the sprayer. With the Kumho 710s you need to keep them cool, especially with a two driver car, if you want them to stay competitive. So we iced them down after every run. Andy's first run he forgot to turn off the TCS, big mistake. My first run, as usually for me lately, was my best run for the day. I ended up in first place after Saturday, I believe Andy ended up in third after coning his second run, and slowing down a bit on his third run. The guy in the Red RX-8 was in second.
Sunday came around, I had every intention if maintaining my lead, as I'm sure everyone behind me had of catching me. After Andy's third run he had a .001 second lead over me. I had hoped to not even have to take that third run, but I went out there and knocked off another 3/10ths of a second, to take the win in our fourth divisional. Andy had the first two, I now have the second two, so we will battle it out in Topeka Kansas in two weeks for the Midwest Division B-Stock Championship, just about one month before the National Championships also held in Topeka Kansas.
There were a few other My350z'ers out there as well, Matt from Kansas (forget his last name) and Brian from Oklahoma. Matt did really well in the car, now if he could just get some new 710s and see what he could make that car do!

It was a very fun event (Except the Heat) Sat was just not Andy's day til that 3rd run I was in 3rd but that quickly faded to 5th overall but It was better than DFL in Salina
After the Salina event the White RX8 got me by .02 for the weekend. After KC I got him by .03 for the weekend so I got a little bit of revenge
We don't think we are going to make the last one 2 weeks is just not enough time to recoop the funds spent this weekend. So good luck Chris I hope you can pull it off for the win.
