Default My first racing victory!!! Speed Ventures Time Attack

I am excited so I have to share that I won my first automotive racing trophy from the Speed Ventures Time Attack this past weekend on the infield course at California Speedway. I competed in the Turbo-Race class and won with a 1:18.843 lap time. Since I showed up late, the Time Attack was my first session of the day. Later on in the day I ran a 1:16.532 which I was pretty excited about considering I was only on 8.5 psi. Unfortunately the Porsche GT and 2006 Corvette Z06 didn't have transponders, as I would be curious as to how my lap times compared to theirs. I do know that a race prepped 2004 Corvette Z06 on Hoosiers, with a very experienced driver ran a 1:14.147 as his fastest lap. I still have a few suspension changes to do as well as a few more weight reduction things and my car should be all dialed in and ready to be turned up to 12.5psi!

That car just got put together the week before... Still a stock motor but lots of bolt on parts and most of a Z06 T1 suspension. He said he beat the C6Z06 by .015 in the Time Attack.

Same car, as I understand by the list of upgrades he just had done it was mostly stock up till last week. Yeah the C6Z was right on him 1:14 something. The C6Z has headers and big V710 kumhos.

homiusang - Right now my suspension is too stiff still and holding back my lap times even more, but here is the setup anyways...JIC FLTA-2 Coilovers on full soft R, JIC rear springs replaced with Eibach Pro Kit rear springs, 350EVO sways set to medium, Cusco front camber adjustable a-arms, Kinetix rear camber and toe arms, Cusco front strut tower brace. I am going to get some custom springs made with way different spring rates and then I will set my sways to full stiff as well.

nissansource - Yes the 22nd. Its going to be an awesome event.

liudacris - Thanks! They JWT TT is amazing. P.S. I was only on 8.5psi when I won too

Ditch those junk JIC's and you'll put down even better times.

Working on it. I am keeping their struts, but having custom springs made.

Mike was awesome! When he gets that back end suspension dialed in he is going to take several seconds off his lap times, and with that added power.....it will be great.
