Default Pagid 4-4 vs Hawk HT-10 vs Porterfield R4

I am struggling to choose from the above 3 pads for track days. I had ran Porterfield R4s before but they are not up to the task for track days.

can anyone tell me their experiences with the above pads? what are some of the pros and cons for these 3?
Have anyone used HT-10 at all? it seems like it has limited coverage over here on the forum.

Thanks!

Gary

I am not sure about Porterfield R4's but I have run the Hawk and the Pagid. I personally prefer the Pagids over the Hawks because I like the initial bite of the Pagids better than the Hawks. To me the Hawks didn't have a great bite until they were hot whereas the Pagids seemed to bite better when cold. I never drove the Hawks past there operating temp because I never ran them on slicks but I do know you can surpass there operating temp of the Pagid Orange if you run on a full slick and no brake ducts. I don't think you will go wrong with either the Hawks or the Pagids. I think it will be just a matter of opinion on the brake feel on those two pads.

What is your skill level and what tires are you running? Do you have brembos?
Do a search under my name and you will see some brake pad discussions. PFC 01/97's are pretty much the benchmark, but they are expensive.

I've been done about 6 track days last year, and I've autocrossed since 2000, and been karting since 2002. I am running Dunlop Sport Race tires and I have brembos.

Another question I wonder... is SS brakelines something I have to have for my Z? I've heard the brakelines are fine in the Z w/ Brembo.

I run the Pagid Orange on the racecar with no brake ducts and have not had any problem with brake fade. They work real well plus they dont put off corrosive dust that destroys your wheels, paint etc....

For what it's worth, the R4s (plural of R4, not the R4-S) works pretty well even when cold -- I had them on my autocross car for an year. The screech like crazy when cold, though.

No idea how they compare to the other two when cold, as the R4's the only pad of the three I've used.
