the elises come out because our club has a sponsorship with lotus of durham. most of them are novices just getting their feet wet and a few others are dealer cars. one elise did manage a 63.4 or something which was the fastest by about 2 seconds compared to the others.

sweet...whole bunch of pics of my car...there is actually a part of me that is contemplating selling my car and getting a used Elise (or maybe I just need to make my car handle better)

EDIT: I take that back...a LARGE part of me is contemplating getting an Elise instead...like I already visited Lotus of Durham yesterday....

your car handles fine.. you just need to get it on a diet and figure a way to get all that power down! i love how matt's car handled even though it's on stock suspension with the nismo sways. i'm sure coilovers help more.. did you adjust your settings at all?

oh.. and maybe you should run a map that has lower boost for auto-x so you aren't spinning tires on throttle! that was insane.

The thing is not that my car doesn't handle well or that I'm trying to get way into auto-x or anything, its just that I fell in love with those cars this past weekend and just can't get it out of my head.

hehe, my buddy that was there with the SRT-8 300C has actually been looking for the right one for a while now...they are just a good bit out of my price range. I will have to find a very good deal on a used one if I want to get one at all.

Yea they have 2 used ones (I talked to Jay New though), but they are both $40k+. I have found some on the elise forums for 35-38k and one on autotrader for 33k. So I got options down the road probably if I did try to sell my car.

that thing got a HELL of a beating that day. I think 5 or so different people drove it where each person got 6 runs...then it went on to do fun runs after the event. I'd say the tires are about shot.

yup. It's my friend's e30 m3. It's a family driven car.. the father bought it and he drives it as well as his 19 yr old son, (who is a student at Wake with me) and 17yr old daughter drive it. It has a built s52 motor and has some other goodies, like the CF front bumper, hood, and trunk, a full roll cage, racing seats. They also have another red e30 m3 with a built motor.. as well as two turbo supras. Motors were done by McHenry if anybody knows who that is.
