Good point, I should have stated that this was for autocross and motorcycle. If and when I do any HPDE I'll be sure to get equipment suited for the task.

Wife just informed me the helmet made it in. Can't wait to get home tomorrow morning and check it out! Of course I'll post pics. (If my camera works.)

All you need are some chrome spinners and it will really be a Bling-Bling Helmet!

I like it so far. Haven't raced with it yet but I think it will get the job done. LOVE the Blue Iridium Shield!!! No need for sunglasses and looks cool too! LOL

I'd have this one for a lil over two years.. it's SA2000, pre-hans bolts
super compfy but small eye ports. ventilattion is very good, no fogging. open cockpit in a roadster, its really neat. you can really feel the vents on the top of your head- you can turn the vents forward to 'direct air' to your head

visor lift-up is controlled by the aluminum ***** on the side which you'll need like a quarter of half-dollar to turn, it's snug and at speed (in a roadster) you get no air underneath (i.e. the seals are great)

here's the pict of it 'new'

comes with 'ear muff's so that it isolated the engine roar and can accomodate an earpice/microphone if you want.. the ear muffs can be removed. Nomex lined, its really nice helmet.. i highly recommend the Sparco helmets.. if u wear glasses. there is a WTT_F1_TK variant that is for Touring Cars and has a larger eye port...

retail for the SA2005 is $769 for TK, $929 for the F1

Check out the new ARAI helmets. I have a GP5-W with the optional "Touring Car" Peak visor. Awesome helmet, very lightweight, F1 build quality (more than half the F1 grid wears the GP5).

Go to www.Speedwaremotorsports.com to check them out. Call Adam (425-869-5680. Speedware is a big sponsor of mine (ie: sponsor of the T2 350Z) and were able to get Arai to sponsor me as well.

Rob

Where'd you go to check fit? I wear an XL or L helmet (military helmet) because I have a fat head, but I don't want to get something too big...
