Have fun at Road ATL. Let us know how the new track surface works out.

awesome shot, you will get much better with time . And better rubber. When that happens, you need a vid where ur going all out . lol Doesnt look like you where really pushing it to find the limit. Then again the rubber was worn so , its understandable.

Thanks for the image. I'll check my email shortly...not sure if you have a spam blocker or something that was bouncing my emails back.
Very nice vid Sharif! You looked like you where tring too hard to gain on that well driven/modded STi. I bet if you had more time on that track and new tires, you could then focus on a plan to pass him. Get him next time!!

I REALLY wish there was NO music as the spool is what I crave.
As for the STI, that thing was making short work of the exits....impressive.
REALLY hope the next video you have new tires and no background music. It's clear your car has a LOT left in it.

Sharif, the photos from CMP are up on my site: CMP Images

how do the NT-01 tires do on the street? I know they'll never reach their operating temp, but are they even worth running as a primary set of street and track tires as far as wear and heat cycles etc? Like if you don't put tons of miles on the car on the street - maybe 6000-8000 a year

the RA1's I'm always hearing need some amount of heat built up in them to get any reasonable traction with them, even just street driving
but yeah I've been running a set of pirelli corsas, but turns out they were like 2 years old. I didn't realize that until I already mounted and drove on them which pissed me off otherwise I would have sent them back (got compensated $100, but still...) They seem to get extremely slippery when it's 40-60 degrees outside more so than anything I've driven on, but they beat the **** out of the michelin PS2's I had before that as far as grip

Like Sharif said, expect about 5,000 street miles on the NT-01, about the same as their sister the Toyo RA-1. The grip is infinitely better than the typical street tire in dry conditions. In the wet they are like trying to walk across a hockey rink in leather dress shoes..............don't even try! The wide siping creates a swarm of bees type hum, so not pleasant, frankly.
Most of your high performance rubber compounds will lose traction as the temperature falls. Indeed, at 40 F degrees you might expect a high traction summer compound or DOT-R tire to lose as much, if not more than, half its rated traction due to the temp differential. They are happy at 80F and above, and fall off lower than that. If you run an ultra high performance summer compound street tire.......and live in So Cal or Arizona or West Texas......no worries. But take it into the cold fall months of the midwest....you will be sliding around even in the dry on corners you took like you were glued to the ground just two months before. Be careful with your rubber choices, or you will have surprises.

Sharif have you ever check out the tire pile at these events? Some times you can score take off in decent shape, best part they are free! I often cruise it for pratice tires, even left one time with 5 sets of good hoosier, kumho and goodyear race rubber.
Now for racing on I use the kumho 710's, they have 7 races (two 1 hour enduros) on them and still look new. Granted my car is slightly lighter than yours, but would think you would get decent life and high grip.
Good talking with you at CMP,
Mike

That's some amazing tire usage. Seems like my 3500lb car (with me in it) is going to chew up tires pretty quickly.
I've decided to roll with the NT-01's for now 275 front and 315 rear, and see how that works for me.
