Default Where to buy race tires?

Im going to use my stock 17's to put race tires on only for track days. Where is a good place to buy?(nitto, kumho, etc)

Also the stock sizes were F:225/50/17
R:235/50/17

Should I use this size for track also or what is the best size combo for these OEM rims?
I use 19's on the street and my stock rims have just been sitting in my garage, might as well use them!

Thanks

For autocross I got some Kumho Victoracers 255/40/17 on all 4, great setup and good price.

www.edgeracing.com

Hankook, Falkens,Toyos (High Performance and R's).

Your local Discount should match the price which will including the shipping costs. (You either pay shipping costs or State and local taxes.)

The only issue with Discount is potentially having them mounted and balanced by an 18 year who does not care.

I don't know were you are at in your tracking driving experince so this advice my be incorrect for your experince level. I always tell my students to wear out at least two sets, maybe three of high preformance tires before even thinking about R' Componds.

I suggest you buy a used set first before splurging on new r-compound tires. I got a used set of Toyo RA-1s (245/70/18) for $350 shipped from JB Racing Tires. You probably would have paid this much for just one new r-compound tire. Contact John Berget, the owner, and he'll help you sort things out as far as what you need. Here is their website: http://www.jbracingtires.net/

Thank you everyone for the advice. I'll stick with street tires untill I wear them out. Maybe then I'll be ready for the R-compunds. I've done roadcourses before but it was a WRX with the stock tires. I found Avon Tech M500 at tirerack and the sizes I need for the stock rims F:245/45/17
R:255/45/17

for $400. I think these tires will be easier on my stock brakes too since I only changed the pads and switched to Syn fluid.

I like the Nitto Nt01 alot, but at $850 is alot for just a few road sessions.

If you drive it hard, tires wont last long due to corner edge wear
