Stand 21 Outside Seam gloves. Very comfortable, with better feel than my previous OMP's.

I have a set of black mechanic's gloves. Excellent grip & very comfortable. Cost me less than $10. Just could not justify buying the more expensive racing gloves when I only use them for autoX once a month.

IMO gloves are gloves, no real need to go fancy/expensive. The only question you should ask yourself, is whether you want something fireproof or not.

I've used the G Force and they are great, cheap too. Personally I went with the Sparco Hurricane, its fire-proof (and I like the way they look ).

Nomex lined gloves are a good thing, especially when the oil line fire burns through the shifter boot...

You certainly should look for an SFI or FIA rating. Most gloves that are fire retardant are not lined with nomex, but are simply made with nomex fabric. I chose the Stand 21 Outside Seam gloves because not feeling the seems on each edge of the sides of your fingers as you grip the wheel does two things. First, it increases comfort, without doubt. When I would work the wheel through my hands with conventional gloves, I always felt the stitching area "rolling" into the sides of my fingers, which was a distraction of sorts as well as a detraction of comfort. You just feel more natural with the outside seams, and over the course of a long stint, that can make a real difference in how your hands feel. Second, that more natural feel gives you a better sense of what the wheel is doing, and lets you feel like you are more in control of the wheel. You have more pressure from your fingers in direct contact with the wheel surface through the leather part of the fingers, instead of the padded stitching area of the glove. I was pleasantly surprised, and will use them from now on.

Interesting fact the outside seam gloves were developed by Stand 21 & Ayrton Senna.

+1 on the outside-seamed gloves. I went shopping a few years ago for some basic, affordable racing gloves, and made the mistake of trying on the Sparco Fast-tech, 'just to see' what an expensive glove feels like. Once I felt the difference in NOT having the seam on the inside to chafe against my fingers, I was sold...the $60 price difference over everything else at the time suddenly became a non-issue next to the dramatic improvement in comfort.
