Have you had a chance to confirm the spring rates?

something like 550lb/in

I'm thinking its too soft for Mosport, but we'll try a bunch of different springs and see what the car likes.

Painted the car today at my buddies paint booth, he sprayed it for me since I would likely have gotten greedy on the clear and had runs everywhere! Came out pretty OK, not amazing, but its a race car right?

Mistico,

If you'd like to see the 17" wheels with Stoptechs, you can have a look at our car in Hayward, CA, that is, if you're in Oakland, CA.

Just PM me if interested.

Have you run the car with this etup already? I'm interested in running 17's with 355 Stoptech setup but I'm worried about clearance when braking.
Any info would be good.
Thanks!

I work in Hayward so that works. I sent you a PM.

Does anyone know know how much a caliper can move during hard braking?

It's really not going to move. We have about 1 mm of clearence and we're not seeing any flex. We were jumping HARD on the brakes at 160 MPH down to about 50 at Daytona and no problems at all. StopTech does a great job engineering brakes.

Here are a few more pictures, Rich as you can see no bumpers or side skirts. We did however paint the rear spoiler, just because we had some more space in the booth.

Sahsa, do you have or know where to get decals of the headlights? We've got the carbon fiber headlight replacements, however, before we put them on, I want to cover the carbon fiber with a decal. Looks better than two black eyes with our paint scheme.

Rich I'm going to be using real headlights, however I am going to get some decals printed for the headlights. I think i'm going to take a picture of the headlight from the most common viewing angle, and take it to get printed with the dimensions of my fibreglass headlight cover. I'll send you a few when I get them printed.

As for the long tubes we're working on developing some right now and will hopefully have something on the market within the next couple of months. I'm just looking for somewhere that can mass produce them for me.

The car is looking great. I see a corner knocked out of the aluminum bumper back-up, how did that happen, those things are pretty strong. Where will you race the car first. We went to VIR and got a first and second and a track record in the Z car and two firsts with the new Honda S2000 and another track record on saturday but lost it in sundays race to the second place guy. Perfect weather for participants and engines.

More news on this project later next week.

The body parts are off for the epoxy mold making process.

We have the front bumper cover, rear bumper cover, rear wing and side skirts.

Parts will be ready next week.

Still working out the pricing with Nissan.

One drawback: Nissan only wants us to sell to motorsports customers. So the bodywork will not be available for street cars. Only competition cars.

competition = w2w only, or does it also include time trials?

HOPEFULLY it will include time trials. I'd like it to be as broad as possible, but in the end, it's Nissan's decision. They really want to keep the NISMO bodywork unique to the car.

The bodywork we are producing will be Kevlar with carbon reinforcement for rigidity where it is needed. The Kevlar is pretty darn strong, but will flex where carbon will shatter. And Kevlar is repairable like carbon. This will be very cool materials. I'm really looking forward to running it.

We should know this coming week who we can sell to. I'll be sure to post it.

You should be more concerned about wheel-bearing deflection than the caliper moving/deflecting.

Awesome job guys, the car looks great! I look forward to seeing you guys at Mosport!! -not sure what car i'm driving yet

Rich, Any updates on the Nismo Z bodywork on the GA cars? Are you running at VIR end of the season? I'd like to come and shoot pics. Sasha are you running the new bodywork at Mosport? FWIW the SCCA turned down the Nismo 350Z for T2 competition.
