17's and BBK's???
who says BBK's won't fit under a 17" wheel???? muahahahaha!

im loving the gap.

I wonder if St60's will fit. I know some 355 6 piston kits will fit under 17's.
|
what size rotor is that?

Yes, those style wheels (Gram light replica's) will fit most any 355mm bbk, but not alot of 17" wheels will clear.

with only enough clearance for one or two pieces of paper i would still be a little bit concerned under hard braking. i've read that the caliper can move up to 1/4 inch under hard braking. can anyone back that up??? not to mention air movement.

Which part is the bridge? Is it on the caliper itself or where it mounts?
I have the same BBK and want to get another set of track wheels and if I can fit 17's that would be awesome. Any chance you could post pictures of the scratches inside the wheels, and were you running R comp tires? The reason I ask is because the more hub flex you get, the more chances of the caliper rubbing if it stays static but the wheel doesn't. My 18" OEM wheels barley clear my the Stoptech 14" BBK. Thanks. |
Oh and is this on the front only or on the rear as well with the ST45 caliper?
Thanks. |
When you say bridge you mean the removable bridge piece in the middle correct?

I'm glad someone finally did this. I've always wondered how tight the 14" rotors will be on 17" rims. I've been researching the various 355mm front kits (MR group buy in particular) and glad to see pictures on how tight it really is. The other option I'm looking at is the Wilwood 4pot 13.6" front kit that will definitely clear 17" rims.

i bought the setup used, so i didn't feel too guilty about it. plus it's no show car and i needed a few more "track scars." i just couldn't justify getting a BBK with only a 13" rotor. i mean, our rotors are already 13". sure, a two piece would be an improvement, but the heat dissipation characteristic of a 14" is a lot better. at least that's what i tell myself to help me sleep better :D
