Default Hoosier A6s,what tire pressures?

Saturday will be my first autocross on A6 Hoosiers, can anyone give me any idea as to what tire pressures I'll need to start with?I'm running 285/30-18s up front and 295/30-19s in the rear on light weight Enkie wheels on a stock 07 Nismo Z.

On my Hoosiers (275/35R18, 18x8/18x8.5) I ran 44 front, 40 rear.

You check pressures after each run to keep them where you believe they work the best. If the cycle is real long I'll wait until it's almost time to run instead of right after I get back.

Are you planning to run with MidSouth SCCA at Memphis Motorsports this weekend?

I'd like to see what the Nismo is capable of so I might come over. I haven't raced with MidSouth since 2005.

+1 Especially if a top driver (like a Matt Braun or GJ Dixon) co-drives one this season. The car definitely has good stats on paper - I was talking to my wife about getting a used one as my 2nd car once the RX-8 is paid off.

As close to the start of the run as I could check them and still get prepared without stressing out.

+1, if I feel stressed out just before a run, my mind isn't right, and I tend to make dumb mistakes.

I wound up running hot 45f and 40r pressures with good results.Started with 43f and 37 rear cold ending up with 45 and 40 on a cool 55-60 degree day.I did check the pressure before each run.

Ok, same question for Kuhmo 710's....

What pressures do you guys prefer? So far I've been running 36/31, 285/18's with marginal success.

(+1 on the not getting stressed out comment....I really hate it when I stage, then there is some problem on track and i have to sit there on the start line waiting....for some reason, that really psyches me out!)

No sidewall flex issues at all with Hoosers and no sidewall flex issues with 265/35 Bridgestone REO1R fronts on the 9"stock wheels.

Nashville is a good place to run. We had 76 cars on Sunday and the weather was cool and wet in the morning. Fast course but convoluted. I ran Tire Pax and got beat by a 59 Bug-eyed Sprite in HS. It was a lot of fun.

I watched Carter come out and make one run. Whew! Jim is also stepping it up. He was really aggressive all day. There are 3 current National Champions in the region and they are happy to help people, AS, ES & ESL.

Depends upon what you mean by "sidewall flex" -- as far as straightaways (not that many in autocross), the tires were fine. Cornering is a bit of a different story. At 1.2+ G, the tires have a hard time staying "underneath" the wheels.

Are spacers a must running the stock wheels ('03 18x8) and a 275 or 285 width Hoosier or can the car take them without rubbing?
