I wear the Adidas "Goodyear" shoes too (in White and Blue). They are light and comfortable, and match my race suit!

I think I picked them up at FootAction for like $30.

+1 on the adidas wrestling shoes & adidas Goodyear racing shoes. And these shoes are inexpensive. I have one pair of the wrestling shoes & two pairs of the Goodyears. The wrestling shoes are super light & very comfortable. I got a pair for $20 on closeout.

I just use soccer boots. Very light, thin soles, and cheap.

Correction: My other pair is the Adidas Tuscany (not Adiracer). Pretty much the same thing, with the same shape, narrow fit, and tread pattern. Just no CF accents and different stitching and sidewalls on the soles.

They look exactly like this.

I have a pair of sabelt shoes and 2 pairs of piloti (one street one true nomex track shoe). I like 'em all, the pilotis are a bit more comfy to wear outside the car but the sabelts blow them away in-car for feel...

Piloti FTW. Great selection, and lots of dual purpose driving/casual shoes to pick from. I wear a Sparco racing shoe on the track, personally.

But if you are serious about getting true driving shoes, then look at some FIA certified ones because they have fire protection and will be allowed at all venues (compitition wise).
I agree but the Fia Puma's are pretty pricey, also the Alpine Stars are nice too.

Just keep in mind that wrestling shoes and others that aren't made for motorsports aren't fire resistant. Yes, chances are good that you'll never need a fire resistant boot, but it's kind of like buying a cheap helmet. If you ever do need it, you'll really wish you hadn't skimped.

I use a high-top Simpson boot with velcro closures that's easy to get in and out of. And as soon as I get off the track I change into a pair of cheap loafers for walking around the paddock so I don't wear out the driving shoes or get oil, water, or other crap on the soles.

For autocross, I seriously doubt you'll ever need a fire retardant shoes. It's a waste of money to even spend over $50 for a pair you're only using for autocross. Heck, you might as well wear fire retardant shoes while daily driving since the chances of you needing them on the street is more likely than in an autocross course. For a road course, I'll even go one step further and say that unless you're wearing a full fire retardant suit, the shoes alone ain't going to save your *** in a fire.

Unless its FIA or Nomex Certified, it isn't going to do much no matter who makes it.
