Who's all going to be in Willows this weekend besides me?

I only know of 2 others from the boards that'll be up there, and one of which won't be in his Z. *cough* *cough* dave..

Haha - Dave will be in the new toy! I was planning to go Sunday, but am now having Z problems after Laguna last month - totally bummed.

I won't be back at the hill until 9/18. I coach for HOD and they are having a "hooked on exotics" day. Should be fun to run with the lambos, ferraris.....and the likes. I run at Thunderhill alot but rarely see many Z's out there. I live up North in Redding. Where are you guys from???? I would love to get a better Z community together...I feel like the lone ranger in Redding with alot of posers but no racers.

Sorry to hear about that scotts.. hope it's nothing too serious.

Boozt - I'm down in the south bay area, Cupertino. This will be my first time in a Z at Thill, would have been great to pick your brain. Maybe next time... I'm already roped into something over the 19th so the 25th maybe my next trip up with NCRC.

I used to run with David and the HOD team. It got a little too geared towards the clientele with a lot of $ (higher cost to drive, less track time due to more and shorter sessions), so I haven't run with them for awhile now. I try to go once a month, and that's typically been with Speedventures, Trackmasters, and recently NCRC; there are typically a few Zs with those 3 groups. I'm from the Bay Area also. Hope to see you up there sometime soon, after the Z recovers.

hey! I'll be there sat and sunday w/ a group of Evos. I'll be running in Solo group.

I see a group from s2ki is also going. Sad that there's no group track days like that here in the Z forum. So there's gonna be a lot of Evos and s2ks. Not many take their Zs to the track much from the meet's I've been to. Seems majority of Zs go towards show.

I was there this past weekend sat/sun with NASA and 3 or my tires corded, otherwise I would go. There were two other Z's but in HPDE3 so I didn't see them run.
Scott, good luck getting the bugs worked out.

To you guys going, have a blast and report back.

I can work with Speedventures to get a Z-only session with them, although the experience levels will vary. I've seen them give discounts to groups before. Last month when we were at Laguna there was a gaggle of VWs there that drove up from SoCal. Like you said, most of the Zs at the local meets are show cars that don't hit the track. There are only maybe 6 of us that hit the tracks. If we could get a dozen we could get a good discount. If we could get 20-25, we could likely get a session.

ClubZ used to organize Z events, but one bad day at Thunderhill and they went under. I thought about resurrecting, but haven't pulled the trigger.

Yeah, the Z only session could be messy with 20 drivers with different skill level.
I'd offer to help organize but too much going on right now to commit to that sort of thing.

Maybe a halfway point with the socal gang would workout, like laguna or buttonwillow.

Had lotz of fun last weekend. Z did pretty good, no problems with overheating despite the 100 degree weekend.

Thanks for stopping by zetta, was good to meet you.

Hope to see more Z's out next time!

Hey Pat! Ya was nice meeting you too. I don't remember the name of the Nismo driver, he was a nice guy also. Zetta was there in the mag black Z, but he was running with the Evo crowd.

Somehow, I think I just about missed every run with the Z's I saw, either was running Solo1 when people were in Solo2, ran Solo2 then I saw a couple back in Solo1. Don't think anyone ran in pointby that I saw, got passed by just about everyone there haha.

Did anyone know the fast Silver Subie Sti driver? I want to know how he was setup, guy ate me up on the back 9 threw the corners.

What's your guy's entry speeds into turn 8, it seems I undershoot that turn everytime, just didn't have the ballz to keep up the velocity down the back stretch all the way up into it...

I keep hearing this crap about Z's being more of a show car than a track car, I'd love to change those opinions by getting more Z's out to the track. We don't do half bad!

All I know is I need to have my harness and seat ready to go by the next run, hanging onto the wheel to keep me upright had me exhausted by the 4th run of the day.

Lastly I think the NCRC format rocks, I guess that was their biggest turn-out ever. Good times, look forward to even bigger & better events! (hopefully with more Z's!)

I never look at the speedo on track, except sometimes on the front straight. From what I can tell, turn 8 is around 90+mph. Do you use some of the shoulder?

We're all doing our part representing the Z out there. A lot of people are surprised by it's performance.

I'm at all the remaining NASA events this year if you want to make it out to one of those. The next one is at Thunderhill backwards, Llinrednuht Oct 3-4.

Yep, that's exactly it, I'm not getting to the shoulder so I know I'm undershooting. I'm floored coming out of 6 all the way up to it I'd guesstimate I'm probably around 100mph just before entry, but I touch my brakes right before entering and end up short of the meat.

I'll look into the 3-4th with NASA, THill backwards sounds fun and i'm itchin for more. NCRC only has Fridays coming up over the next month or two and for people with j-o-b-s, that's hard to do.

Hey, nice meeting you too! I was in the point-by group and too bad I was the only Z there. Although Z is kinda heavy and slightly under-power, they run really really well on the track. I wish one day we can have a group of Z on the track, just like the s2000, evo, sti group. These cars are easier to go fast than the Z, but with good driving skills, we can also be competitive. So come out, sign up and get more seat time!!!
