Default How do you drive a viper?

FLAT OUT of course

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g8pRkhnJ9Eg

Ok let me set this up for you first ... this is at 100+ going into turn 1.

Back in October this Viper idiot was driving with no regard for anyone else
on the track, cutting off other drivers into corners, etc., etc. So the guy already had a "history" going into this past weekend. Yet like most ego driven j/o's he decides not to learn anything from it, but instead gets himself in even deeper and actually putting other lives and high $$ cars at stake. I'm sure he and his lovely friend are very proud after this mess. Too bad he didn't total the car in the process. It would have been much safer for everyone else. How about spending a few hundred $ on lessons and sparing everyone else the risk buddy?

NOTE how the driver of the Porsche (filming) in this clip immediately backs off (a very wise move) and let's the idiot make a mockery of himself. Also notice how the vette sees a fiasco in the works and quickly gets off the brake and on the gas to "GET OUT OF THE IDIOT'S WAY!!!" Congrats dude!!! Hey at least it wouldn't have cost you much if you had totaled it (if only!!) ... or is the car perfect and the problem lies in some other unidentifiable area? hahaha You decide.

That's pretty terrible. If he had just held his line instead of panicking he might not have spun. Somebody needs to teach that driver some HPDE etiquette as well as the traction circle.

Most at track events suck, fast on the straights and slow in the corners. They always have an excuse too....

I've got lots of Viper stories...

Myself and a friend were instructors at a Viper Days event years ago. My friend is a pro driver and he had enough points with Hertz to get a free rental. Just for the hell of it he picked up a triple white Cadillac STS. I had my old Datsun 240Z.

During one of the open instructor on track session he and I got in a big battle out there. I could easily out brake him and pull him in the corners but he could get past me in the straights and sometimes out ***** me in the really fast corners. After a couple laps we both got black flagged.

At the black flag station we were told to cut it out. We were passing so many of the paying Viper students they began to complain about being beat by the Pimp Mobile and the Jap Crapwagon.

haha those pimp mobiles are quick!

I've run into the viper club a couple of times at the track (just open lapping days). Pretty nice guys for the most part, but they always seem to be the hardest to deal with on the track. Ill tail them around a whole lap, ready to pass coming out of a corner, and its a friggin drag race (which I lose) down the back stretch with them. So frustrating some days. Yes, I get it, your 14L engine makes more power than mine, but you suck so let me by :P

most of the Z owners are just happy to show the hellaflush jdm racing vip whatever wtf style and their racing ALUMINIUM 250$ lug nuts...
they don't go to the track.

I always see more vipers at the track than Z... and considering that there are about 20/25 Z for each viper....

There are also some very good Viper driver's and some very well setup Vipers out there. Paul Mumford's ACR is a perfect example. It won SCC's 2002 Ultimate Street Car Challenge and was promptly asked not to return in the future because it so far outclassed every other car entered, especially with Paul driving.

I was at ACS Roval yesterday and last red session guess what, Viper into wall red flagged the session. He spun a few times and was an experienced driver too...He won the GTGP Tuner at Laguna I guess???

Somebody called him scary Gary, he past me went up the curbs and pitched it, sparks everywhere...
