Another FATT down
For starters:
Thanks Commasense for the ride along! It was extremely fun and I was able to learn a lot. Sitting and watching you drive at speed really helped me find the line better. Enormously so, that I was able to drive more consistenly and fast. This in turned allowed me to pass every single car (except noahbuddy's procharged 350Z) including the eclipses and vettes that were running in our group.
Thanks noahbuddy for letting me take your supercharged Z for a quick spin. It was like driving my own jet engine - I can only imagine what the people heard when they got passed by you... oh wait, I did get passed by you! Beautiful sound - beautiful set up. It was as if I was sitting there and you zoomed by. Good luck in Florida and congratulations on the promotion to group 2!
Everyone else that came out: daewoo, jim (forgot your screen name), matt, and daewoo's bro. Great time! Nice seeing you all again.
In our group 1B, I think noahbuddy and I were the fastest running out there. We'd roll out first and by a few laps we'd have passed everyone at least once. It was nice as we both were able to run behind each other and keep a two man Z buddy team as we drove. That is until noahbuddy opened up that procharger.
I wasn't as deathly afraid as my first time out in August, but I had enough fear and nervousness to temper me. Although I started to push myself and the car pretty hard this time. The instructors said I got to about 90% potential of the car, which was really cool.
I was able to learn how to down shift efficiently by mid session, which helped out a lot. Changing gears and setting up your gears really helped out.
I'm glad it was a pretty safe day today and we were all able to drive away with no harm besides some mud and a massacre of dead bugs on our fronts.
I'll probably be signing up for the May date - I want to do March but am wondering if it'll be too cold.
We had a good showing of 350Z's out there, but we could always use more!

Good seeing you, too, Gaseous. Glad you got something from riding with me. I took an instructor in the third session and learned quite a bit, too. You can always learn more!
Good to see Jim, Matt, Steve, John, and Mario again too. Special thanks to Steve for letting me try out that supercharged car in the parking lot. What a ride! (Make sure you get some bigger brakes before you really open it up on the track!)
It was a beautiful day, and I was glad I decided (at the very last minute) to come out. I wasn't able to top my best lap time (in the 1:32 range), but I was experimenting with some different techniques: carrying more speed through Turns 3 and 10 and staying in 4th gear instead of downshifting to 3rd.
Jim M. and I went over to look at the Shenandoah track under construction. That banked turn is just weird. Dave in the OG Racing store says he's expecting they'll be pulling cars out of the trees on the outside of that turn. They'll certainly be collecting the exhaust systems of anyone who tries to move from the banked part of the turn to the flat outside section.
Still, I'm looking forward to running it. I hope they get it finished soon.

Man, that procharger was excellent. No performance or reliability issues at all. Didn't blow my engine or anything. I have to agree on the brakes. My break light came on on the way home from the track. Seems I went metal to metal on the back and came very very close on the front. Definitely time for a brake upgrade. I'm so stoked I got promoted to the Advanced group 2. Too bad I'm moving to Fla. But, Dec 5th is still open for group 2... maybe I'll show up.
God I love the Z on the track...
