27 gallons and I got this. If I hadn't hit the pump limit and got the full 32 in I might have made 600.

if you have a 7.3 it should be a 35 gallon tank. Just have to pump the last 3 super slow due to the poor design of the tank.

There is a mod called the "harpoon mod" that can make it where you can fill straight up.

I've never gotten more than 28 in even when pumping slow, but then again I have never run it dry. The manual and the diesel stop say its a 30 gallon and 32 with the filler tube. The long bed has 38.

Thatswhy I forgot the differences in bed sizes. I have a long bed so when filling up right when light comes on it takes 35 gallons z of a 38 gallon tank :-)

It's funny but the Excursion has a 44 gallon tank. Man, I would love to have that. Fill ups would be a pain but imaging how far you could go on a tank.

I was looking for one of those before I bought my truck, but they were harder to find in diesel and they seem to cost more.

Looking to swap my 5.6L Titan for a Diesel tow rig for this season of towing. What's the latest truck "we" love? I towed last weekend - 340 miles round trip, and spent ~$125 just in gas. I was not happy. I need something I can put a nice camper shell onto.

Suggestions? Go. . .

Scott, the 04.5+ Duramax's are nice, plus they have the allison trans. The 7.3l fords (don't buy anything after that). Duramax's are nice as well, but the older auto versions seem to have some difficulties.

The 6.4 fords are great as well but don't buy a 6.0 unless its already had headgasket redone and was studded

other 6.0 issues include turbo hoses, Water/diesel separator o rings, and a few more things. I am not sure how Ford got the 6.0 so wrong.
