Default Race car...Keep or remove the heater core ?

Hi,

i'm starting to list my future modification (aka weight reduction) and i was thinking to remove the heater core. I have a big oil cooler and a bigger oil pan to get control on heat.

But does the weight reduction weight of the heater core worth the trouble and does the ''less coolant'' could give me trouble after that on the track ?

i need to remove at least an extra 100 lbs on my car to go around 2900 lbs.

Thanks,

Martin

Keep it, if for no other reason than that it can be used to draw heat off the engine in the even it starts to overheat.

Not to mention to help deal with fogging windows. Same with the interior fan motor. It's worth the extra weight.

It is also helpful to have when bleeding the air out of the radiator system.
