First autox with cusco rs and hotchkis sways...destroyed by a GTR
I was able to get some seat time with my new cusco rd set at 80% and hotchkis sways front and rear.
I have to say the car is a completely different animal now. Have to relearn everything, the way it reacts to throttle is different in the turns in that the rear hooks and wants to send the car straight so you have to dial in a little more steering angle. Too much gas and it breaks loose as before but more gradual.
The hotchkis have greatly improved turn in response and the understeer is mostly gone. Waiting to get my new tires next year as well as some new shocks and springs before messing with them again. Fairly happy.
With the current set up my limiting factor were some old re050a that were bald. Not really up to snuff but I did alright in the guest class regardless.
I'll get some vids of the runs up later today.
The only other nissan that showed up was a GTR and he mopped the floor with me. First run of the day was 1 second off the current FTD at the time. And it looks like he'll get top 5 out of 60 cars. That car does some weird stuff, it takes corners unlike anything else out there. On some turns it looked like he was too hot going in but it would somehow make the turn. Others you thought for sure he would spin out but it would just save itself lol.
Seriously contemplating getting one but when I spoke with the owner he echoed many other people's sentiments. If all you're looking for is to put down times then it's the car for you but when it comes to the driving experience it's not really all that great.

Nice and accurate narrative on what to expect with a clutch type diff at that level of lock.
Ive only driven mostly stock GTR around track with no weight reduction, and even though they are definitely lightning you absolutely feel the weight on corner entry and turn in...I didnt like it.

This was more than AWD, I have friends that have evos and wrxs and they couldn't make some of these maneuvers. Going in too hot will cause massive understeer for them, they can put the power down sooner but that's about it.
The GTR did this one quick left right off camber and you could see the big girl try to slide off the line but then it did this weird shimmy sort of deal rotated in and kept going in the direction the nose was pointed while losing zero speed. Lol. You had to watch it to know what I am describing. I'm sure all the computer nannies kicked in and did their job to pull this off.

The diff definitely has a learning curve. Now I have to relearn how to drive the car after 2+ years with the vlsd
