Tire Question.
I've been running a set of Hankook RS3s for a good many track weekends on my stock 07 350z. They are 265s on Enkei 9.5 inch wheels.
Since my car is stock and with no camber adjustment they are obviously wearing pretty badly on the outside edge despite rotating them around and even running them backwards on dry days. The rest of the tread looks great.
I'm thinking about getting them remounted so that the outside edge is inside.
I've heard some folks say that if you do this late in the tire's life they will make your handling squirrelly.
I'm hoping to go to VIR in March and would rather just run them as they are now than have them remounted and have funky handling since I don't get to go to VIR often.
Interested in any thoughts on this.

These tires have lasted a long time and I've been pleased with performance. I have a square set up so I have rotated them often and run them backwards often and that has helped. A good camber setup should help spare that outside edge that gets worn so bad. My home track is especially abrasive and the left front really gets chewed up.
I don't think Hankook is making the RS-3 anymore. I see an RS-4 on their site. It has a 200 tread wear rating. The original RS-3 was a 140. The later RS-3s had a 200 rating but they did not change the compound.
I will. Might buy me a few more weekends on this set.
I also noticed a few wheel weights missing. I guess I'll get them balanced too but I hear a lot of folks say that tires slip on the wheels with track use. I've seen folks mark the tire and wheel and when they come back from a session the tires has slipped an inch or so. Doesn't this make balancing beside the point?

Good to know. I'm staggered so can't rotate and the front outsides are clearly wearing down. The rears still look great. With stock power the RS3 grip so well its hard to break them lose. Could always switch to RE-71s but the Hankooks are cheaper and came in the right sizes for me.
I rotate, flip on the wheels as needed through out the tire life to maximize the use I get out of them. I have rotated and flipped tires on wheels on the last 3 sets of street tires (Dunlop Star Specs), do it, no issues at all.

Good to know. Will flip them earlier in the life of my next set.
