A member had a set for sale(which I slept on...). I spoke to a few people at a prosolo event and they were all very happy with them. What I got from them were that some of the builders were from moton suspension.

They are local to you as well. Stop in there. When I plan to upgrade my clubsport KW I will be looking at these.

Yea, I saw the for sale post, that's the only Z related post on MCS I found. Other car forums seem to say great things about them. Yes they are local to my family home, unfortunately I am in Chicago currently, but that's not an issue. I emailed them with questions and got a prompt response immediately, they certain are tempting to try, although their 1 way rebound adjustable shocks (w/o springs or top mounts) are same price range as KW Clubsports...

MCS is run by Lex Carson, who started MCS after Moton was sold to AST years ago. He knows what he is doing. I have no experience on them, however. All that said, and as much as liked my Motons, I would go elsewhere at the pricepoint. Just my .02.

yea, for their single adjustables w/o springs or top mounts KW Clubsports or Truechoice Konis can be had...

Well...I would take MCS over both of those. Probably toss up with ohlins singles and the price drop on those makes them a no brainer in the 2k price range (though you will want different springs than they ship with).

can you expand on why you'd take MCS over both of those? I believe KWs and Truechoices I-IV are twin tube designs while MCS is monotube. I really want to try the MCS but just thinking about sourcing springs, rear spring seat, top hats etc. will add to the cost quickly. Intesreting on the Ohlins, I'll take a look via search.

If you look at Ohlins, search in the UK. The pound is very weak and parts are crazy cheap.

I had truechoice IV's...both OTS and shortened, but they were crap on the bumps and couldn't take the spring rates I needed. Had Koni essentially max out the possible rebound control and it still wasn't enough. KW CS's cannot be rebuilt for increased spring rates. In fact KW will cut you off if they find out you service them outside of the OE specs. They are ok..ish, but it limits their versatility in the future. Single ohlins will handle about the same spring rates as KW and Truechoice, but will be WAY better on bumps and vendors in the U.S can re-valve them for higher rates (such as PSI in California).

http://www.murraymotorsport.com/prod...-1-nissan-350z

All you really need to do is increase the spring rates vs what they are shipped with and you are good to go. It comes with upper mounts and perches.

It does look like they can be had for about 2250 shipped from U.S. vendors as well...

Ahh thanks for the explanation. I did email KW USA and they also confirmed that while they can rebuild their Clubsports they do not offer customization on them.

Might as well buy Penske or Ohlins TTX for the cost of their motorsports stuff, though and both of those can be serviced easily in the U.S.

What I really want to try is the MCS stuff, haven't heard anything bad from them. Too bad they're not so quite plug and play.

How much increase of spring rates do you suggest? they came with 100/70 N/mm, which translate to about 570/400 lb/in.

thanks for your input. it sounds like on the ohlins the rear springs are flat on one end and pigtail on the other... is this easily replaced? I have only seen universal race springs with both ends flat.

this is for a 370Z, but I believe 350Z is the same:

You can call BC, Megan, etc and the rear perch stuff for about 100-150 bucks. I used the BC stuff and the collars they supplied were fine and did not slip. They allow you to use a 60mm OTS spring.

Cool. Emailed them as well as stance, asking about spring adjusters as well as top mounts, waiting for reply.
