This group, Branded Rally Club, does mostly Time/Speed/Distance rallies. I've run with them several times, and they are well designed and run.
They also have joint rallies with other organizations sometimes.

The gimmick rallies I used to run in were a combination of time/distance and skill at puzzle solving. An example: "Turn right at the first president you see" would be an instruction for a right turn at Washington street."
