Default P.R. wrap up from Mid-Ohio

PERFORMANCE NISSAN RACING FIRST AND THIRD AT MID-OHIO ROAD RACING
CLASSIC

August 10, 2004 – Rosamond CA

Starting 13th, the #13 Performance Nissan Racing 350Z driven by Blake Rosser and Kelly Collins scored the first North American professional series win for the Nissan 350Z. The #33 350Z driven by Mike Cronin Jr. and Stu Hayner finished 3rd, completing the 1-3 podium placement by Performance Nissan Racing.

The Unitech Racing squad has finally put all the mechanical demons behind them and the diligent development of the new 350Z has netted the team their first win in this extremely competitive series.

“This was truly a team win. I’ve raced on many teams and the
Performance Nissan/Unitech Racing team is one of the best. It’s fun to be involved with this team and I know more victories are soon to come,” said #13 driver Kelly Collins.

The luxury of having two competitive cars really paid off at Mid-Ohio. The #13 car was on a riskier one-stop strategy. The lucky #13 benefited from the very late race yellow flag and was able to make it to the checkered flag first. The #33 was on a safer, more conservative two-stop strategy and was poised to win if the race stayed green. Because of the late caution periods, the #33 finished third with a 10-gallon safety margin.

“The race was really exciting and the crew did an outstanding job on both cars. I am not sure if my nerves can handle this kind of pressure but running two competitive cars was certainly exciting. You just gotta love it when a plan finally comes together”, said Unitech Racing owner Jackson Stewart.

Unitech Racing wishes to thank Nissan Motorsports for their help in achieving this historic victory for the 350Z. Additionally, special
thanks go to our technical partners, Stoptech Brake Systems, Sakata Motorsport Electronics/Motec, and Truchoice/KONI for all of their help in developing our winning Nissan 350Zs.

“I am sure proud of all we have accomplished in the short time we have been racing the 350Z. Putting this team together has been so much more than just racing a couple of cars. The hard work by all involved has really paid off”, said Mike Cronin Sr., owner of Performance Nissan Racing.

The Mid-Ohio Road Racing Classic will air on Speed August 15th at 9am Pacific Time. For more information go to
