Hey Cass007, First.. that is one nice looking car you have sir. Acree: I am not affiliated in any way with Acree. Nine months ago when I bought my 350z I just did not like the orange color. Boo double-boo. That's when & why I joined the forum. I found the Acree threads and tried to find him. However, there was never a reply. I had a pocket full of cash and ready to pay him whatever he asked. I just never found him. Then I searched the web for someone to re-do my gauges. I found one guy in LA but, I did not want to take my car apart and wait the turn-around time to send off my gauge clusters for Mods. Besides the dude in LA only offered one color combo. Then I thought: Well now, I worked in the rock biz for forty years and mix sound for people such as Pink floyd. I can solder too. My other biz is recycling & selling audio patchbays for studios where I solder all the time. So, I jumped into my gauges. Although removing and soldering new LED's is not that easy, it can be done.

Acree has a video on YouTube showing needles that change colors as the RPM increases. The color-changing pointers are not a 350z but, that's what I wanted in my ride... that's when I started experimenting with different needle-pointers. Although I could not make the needles change colors correctly, I did find that I could make some cool looking cluster using clear pointers. I thought there might be others out there like me looking for a change without the hassle of spending two days making the change.

I was running an Acree Classic Blue in my car when I made my first red with blue pointer cluster. When I installed the cluster in my car the mileage was incorrect. How do I get the mileage right???? That was a two month process learning where the mileage was stored and how the hell do I change it? I four the Tacho Pro in China and bought one. It did not work. I bought two more before I had a working model. However the Tacho Pro can read the 350z mileage, it will not write the new mileage correctly. That's when I spent $3900.00 for the Smelecom USA PROG. This unit works great. Now I can set the mileage to match the client's mileage.

Sorry to run-off at the mouth. The word "Acree" sent me back in time... Now to answer your question. The pre-made gauges are ready to ship now. To make a custom cluster takes a full day of work. So, I would say 24 hour turn-around. As far as the lighter blue goes, I will look for those LED's tonight and let you know if I find them sir.

Also, I see you have Acree Blue, can you color match the Defi Blue? Its just a bit lighter than the Acree Blue.

Hey Konrad,

Sure man. No problem. Please send me your extra cluster and I will do the conversion for you. It should not be any harder than the 350z cluster. There will be no charge unless success. What colors do you want?

This will be great because the parts-guy at my local Nissan dealership has a G35 he wants me to do. So your extra-gauge will be the test field for both of you. I see no problems do it. The dealership did not even know how the mileage was stored in the 350 until I set the mileage in front of them...

Please ship the extra gauge using a tracking number plus something that has your email address to:

Hey block8head,

I too wanted to see red with white needles. So the custom-gauge-cluster I made today is below:

This custom gauge cluster is ready-to-go and for sale here: http://www.gaugecraft.com/gaugecraft.../services.html

I wrote this in the afternoon and was my first reply BEFORE I made a RED & WHITE cluster...
What year model do you have? Manual trans? What we can do is this: I can send you a gauge cluster that you can use in your car while your cluster ships to me. Then once your custom cluster arrives there will be a return UPS label in the box. Put the "loaner cluster" back in the box and slap the return label on it and we will be good to go.

The price will be $450.00 plus shipping. That covers the main gauges plus the center cluster. When using the clear needle-pointers, I must buy two gauge clusters that are not in the 350z to rob the needles from. The other brand speedo's only have four needles and we need six for the 350z. So I have to buy two non-350z clusters. Those two "other" clusters with clear needles cost me about $100.00 each. Then the gauge face from Blackcat is about $120.00 shipped to me. The LED's are around $20. then it takes me a full day to covert the LED's. I end up with a fair hourly wage in the deal. No big profit margin here...That's how we get to the prices I post.

Please email me directly at motodata@flash.net so you do not have to post your address online. Once I know your address, I will send you some loner gauges.

There are instructions on how to remove your gauges here: http://www.gaugecraft.com/Removing%2...ur-gauges.html

Hey Bro,

Your gauges are boxed up and I emailed you a tracking number. The UPS Dude will be by tomorrow and pick that package up. The insured UPS tracking number says that your main-gauge-cluster and your center-cluster will be there this Friday.

I set your mileage to match your car as shown below and took a few pictures of your new custom clusters for you:

http://www.gaugecraft.com/speedo.jpg

I just was messing around with a cluster and the thing I notice is the speedo & tach have a flat side that is the bottom. Impossible to turn because the odometer and LED's stay in the same place and no way to move them.
Thanks for answering my question.

Hey Cass007,

Well sir, I found that by using a blue-tint on the transparent part of a gauge-face with cool-white PLCC-2 SMT LEDs I get a light-blue color. Is this what you are looking for?

Hey Donati06Z,

I sent you some clear needle-pointers. Hope you like the way your ride looks after the install. In the meantime, I put a red-face on a cluster today. Here are some pictures with clear needle-pointers but, the last three pictures are with stock red-needles.Maybe I should make the MPH LCD red...

Visithttp://www.gaugecraft.com/ today for more custom 350z gauge clusters!

OEM Amber/Red for the redline markings & 35th Anniv and numbers above redline

Hello MI 35th,

What you will want to do is email or call Al at BlackCat Custom http://www.blackcatcustom.com/ and he can make the gauge face as you wish. All three main gauges are one piece.
Then he can ship that puppy to me for your MODS.

I have returned to edit this post: Today/tonight I took a stock 350z main gauge cluster to customize as you wished. However, using the stock Nissan needles as you asked did not provide the desired effect. The white LED I placed under the stock needle only made the red plastic, lexan I think, a bit brighter and sucked... sorry I tried.
I then took a clear needle from something else and that works pretty darn good. The needle cap is black and not silver with the red needle running through it like the stock needles. I could paint the cap silver. Anyway check it out:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V9aHp...ature=youtu.be

I built a silver-face NISMO cluster tonight with blue LED's and clear needles also with blue LED's. Then after your question about making white lights on the ends of the needles set to go off at same rpm OEM tach light flashes so when you reach redline the tach looks like the world may come to an end, well I used red LED's for my test.

This was not easy to do my friend... However, it is the BOMB! I set the shift-light very low because it is late here and I will not bug the people next door revving up. I did make you two videos and posted them to youtube. Let's see if I can link to those for you:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pok2_...ature=youtu.be
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ShPH2...ature=youtu.be

Here are a few pictures of the shift-light needle:

Hey Robert_K,

I was not here years ago. I only got my 350z about nine months ago. NEWS: This last week I have made some gauge clusters that have the RPM needle changing colors. It's the BOMB. I wired into the shift light circuit and took those wires to an LED mounted under the RPM needle. Check it out here below on my marketplace.

You asked in a PM if I could wire the stock gauge cluster with stock OEM needles so the RMP needle changes to white at the shift point. I made one for you but, since the OEM needle is all red plastic it only got a bit lighter red when the white LED comes on. It did not have the correct effect. I then added a clear needle. Now at night it looks correct because it is red changing to white but, in the daytime the needle is only white. You can see two pictures of that in my last reply on this thread. I will soon have a pant-load of gauge faces that have already shipped from BlackCat and will be making more cool gauges and posting them soon.
