It's actually pretty noticeable when you are trying to even out the front/back.

 

What is the maximum you can cut off from the springmount?

 

Any feed back in regards to the springmounts after having this mod on your Z?

 

To answer the last 2 posts. The most you could cut off the spring mount and still have some kind of rubber left to isolate the spring would be about 3/4". That would leave you about 1/4"-5/8" of rubber for cushion compaired to the 1"-1-1/4" when uncut. 1/2" is about right, as it still leaves you plenty of the original cushion effects.

I cut mine about 15,000 miles ago and they are still totally fine.

 

anyone have a profile shot of a stock suspension car with this mod only???

 

why would you do that when can go and replace it with a different car spring mount like this one: (just the rubber mount)

^ The bump stop is integrated into the spring seat. This mod keeps the bump stop in place so you don't destroy your shocks.

 

Like the title says. I get to try the drop and then go back to stock to see if I like it. OR IF I SCRAPE This is with a 3/4 inch drop..

Im dropped on RS*R springs (.6 inch drop - but this about as close to stock as Im going to get. Also riding on 18x9.5 (+20) WORK rims AND A 20MM SPACER )

EDIT***** theres no scraping whatsoever. seems easier to lose the tail end (or perhaps thats just me). You dont lose ride quality - thats for sure. And the looks ......well....pics just dont do it justice.

I know it would slam it but would it be ok to run no springmount at all? Like take the rubber cone completely out?

Everything is the same just lower. I'm sure my stock shocks are done but I don't care I'm getting coilovers soon. And I didn't mean by saying the bump stop was on the shock that you were wrong 350zenophile i just forgot the question mark lol but i took out the rubber cone and everything seems to be just fine. Like i said im sure my shocks are done tho lol

 

nah man, sry it looks like that, but i went a bought a little sheet of 1/4 inch thick rubber and cut a cirlcle out and put it in the cone things place. once the spring pushed on the rubber it squished it and didnt effect the ride height but made the metal on metal creaking go away ( u were right about that ) haha

and you say im a pioneer? well im prolly the first one to do this too.....

people can say all they want but when i took the cone out of the back, the back was lower than the front (duh) so in the pic below ull see the stem the stem thats between the shock and the mount......



well i cut an inch out of that......re welded it and put a piece of 3/4" steel piping around the stem and welded that to make it strong again. im getting coilovers here soon so i did it bc i really wanted to be low.......so i am haha

 

does this mod make the rear bouncy? thanks

 

Didn't notice any difference in ride quality.

 

so i was tackling this yesterday and the way i unbolted the pan where the spring sits is near the center instead of the bolt by the tire. so i guess i took out the toe bolt. so my question is, with that bolt being loose instead, do i need to take it in to get the toe set?
